The European Union also has an explicit objective to make recycling the dominant approach to waste management. It is important to minimise the pollution of our environment.
Recycling is the recovery of materials, which is the process by which waste is recycled into new products. In this way, the secondary material (waste) is not lost, but transformed. By recycling selective waste, we can save a significant amount of primary raw materials, which is beneficial for the environment. Some pollution is also unavoidable during recycling – but it is an environmentally friendly and economical solution compared to primary production, with fewer pollutant emissions and a more sustainable management of the Earth’s resources and environment.
CO2 emissions from the production of secondary silicon carbide are a fraction (6-8%) of the CO2 emitted during the production of the primary product
